U.S. farmers are paying persistently high fertilizer prices, which is driven by limited supply choice, a world supply / demand imbalance, and a cumbersome and costly supply chain. As a result, many farmers are left with eroding, or often, negative margins.

That’s why Greenfield Nitrogen is developing a regional-sized ammonia manufacturing and storage facility near Garner, Iowa. In early 2026, we will be sharing information on how farmers and individuals can participate in the nitrogen fertilizer supply chain.
